Wayne State discounts lab fees for Automation Alley members

Troy-based Automation Alley, a nonprofit that promotes Southeast Michigan\'s high-tech businesses, has entered into a memorandum of understanding that will allow its 1,000-plus members to use new labs and clean rooms at WSU\'s expanded Smart Sensors and Integrated Microsystems facility. Lab director Greg Auner said Automation Alley members will pay below-market rates to use the facilities.

BioTrust banks on research: TechTown rescues samples

Nearly 3.5 million blood samples collected over the past 44 years from Michigan newborns will soon be stored at a new neonatal repository located in TechTown. Medical researchers across the nation will have access to the Michigan Neonatal BioTrust, which will celebrate its grand opening in June. "This is potentially one of the most valuable resources of its type in the U.S," said Randal Charlton, executive director of TechTown.
