The Wayne State University public relations team within the Office of Marketing and Communications works with local, regional and national media to tell the university's stories and connect journalists with faculty experts. It disseminates news releases to members of the media, proactively pitches story ideas and responds to media inquiries.

Board of Governors The Board of Governors elects the President of the university, has general supervision of Wayne State University and the control and direction of all expenditures from university funds. It enacts bylaws and regulations for the conduct of its business and for the governance of the university.
Office of the President Dr. Kimberly Andrews Espy became the 13th president of Wayne State University on August 1, 2023.

Parking
Metered street parking and parking structures are available around and on campus.
View the campus map with parking options. Members of the media who need to park in other locations temporarily while they shoot video should contact the PR department at 313-577-8155.
Credentials and special events
In general, credentials are not needed for non-athletics events. For events with limited capacity, the media relations office will inform news organizations in advance if credentials are needed. Occasionally, reporters and photographers may be asked to show identification from their news organization, especially to access media areas at commencement and convocation ceremonies.
