TechTown takes off: High-tech startups flourish at Wayne State site

Metro siblings take fast track through WSU

A feature story focuses on three Sterling Heights siblings who graduated together from the WSU School of Business Administration this morning. Royce Mathew, 20, will complete requirements for his MBA this summer. Brother Mathew, 17, and sister Roshen, 18, received bachelor's degrees. Registrar Linda Falkiewicz affirmed that for students to complete degree requirements as early as did the Mathews "is indeed a rare accomplishment.\" Marketing professor Jeffrey Stoltman also is quoted. WSU opens $28M Engineering Center to support education, innovations

Wayne State University opened the $28 million Marvin I. Danto Engineering Development Center last week. The new facility will couple traditional university research opportunities with an opportunity for students, faculty and even small companies to launch a business. \"We\'re moving toward taking inventions in engineering and moving them to commercial ventures,\" said Ralph Kummler, dean of the College of Engineering.

Wayne State University will host the MovingMedia Student Film Festival May 22-24. The festival showcases the work of Wayne State students, and, for the first time, invites entries from peer institutions in southeast Michigan including Madonna University, the University of Windsor, Eastern Michigan University, Lawrence Technological University and the College of Creative Studies.
