Michigan Becoming National Life Sciences Leader Despite Downturn

A report released last week by the Anderson Economic Group LLC attributes tremendous growth in Michigan's life sciences industry to the University Research Corridor, which includes Wayne State. More than 79,000 Michigan residents now work in life sciences, according to the report, with the average worker\'s salary climbing significantly. The story mentions that the corridor has appointed an executive director, Jeff Mason, who will report to WSU President Jay Noren and presidents of the two other member universities.
