Karmanos Cancer Institute's 13th annual Cancer Symposium set for Sept. 9

“The Cancer Patient’s Journey: What You Need to Know” will be the focus of the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute's 13th annual Cancer Symposium, scheduled for Sept. 9.

The symposium, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., will be offered both in person and online at the MotorCity Casino & Hotel, the Hospitality House in Flint and Karmanos at McLaren Greater Lansing.

Topics include the role of imaging technology, the role of clinical trials, the role of genetic and genomic testing and a panel discussion on "Optimizing the Cancer Care Experience."

The event is free and open to the public.
