Dr. Vaishampayan to lead OncLive’s State of the Science Summit on Treatment of Genitourinary Cancers.

Ulka Vaishampayan, M.D., Wayne State University School of Medicine professor of Oncology, will lead OncLive’s State of the Science Summit on the Treatment of Genitourinary Cancers.

The summit is scheduled to take place from 5 to 9 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Westin Southfield Detroit, 1500 Town Center, Southfield, Mich.

Dr. Vaishampayan, a genitourinary expert of the Karmanos Cancer Institute, will be joined by a panel that includes Hussein Aoun, M.D., and Elisabeth Heath, M.D., FACP, of the Karmanos Cancer Institute and the Wayne State University School of Medicine; Ajjai Alva, M.B.B.S., from the University of Michigan; and Clara Hwang, M.D., from Henry Ford Health System.

This program is designed to educate health care professionals on the clinical benefits associated with new science driving the thinking in genitourinary cancer management. Attendees will enhance their knowledge of novel treatment approaches and gain a better understanding to apply state-of-the-art treatment strategies as part of their patients’ care.

Topics will include:

• The role of Cytoreductive Nephrectomy in mRCC
• The role of Frontline TKIs in mRCC
• The role of Frontline Immunotherapy in mRCC
• Metastatic castration-sensitive prostate cancer
• Treatment of non-metastatic CRPC
• Novel imaging in GU cancers

A networking session mid-way through the evening will allow attendees to meet the program speakers and enjoy dinner and drinks. The evening will also include a peer exchange question-and-answer panel to give attendees an opportunity to ask questions of the speakers.
