WSUPG announces promotions, additions

The Wayne State University Physician Group this week announced additions and promotions to its management team.

Charlita Booth has been promoted to WSUPG’s director of Accounting. In this role, she will manage accounting department functions, including cash management, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and reports to the vice president of Finance.

Booth joined WSUPG in April 2008 as an accountant, and was promoted to senior accountant in April 2017. Before joining WSUPG, she worked as a controller for the Greater Detroit Area Health Council.

She has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Davenport University with a major in accounting.

Barbara Brown-Cadovich has been promoted to director of Quality Management and Patient Safety. She will work with the medical director of Quality and Patient Safety and department chairs in advancing a culture focused on patient safety, quality, and patient experience improvement and clinical risk management.

She joined WSUPG in January 2018 as manager of Quality and Patient Safety. She came to WSUPG from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Michigan, where she served as director of Clinical Quality Strategy and Compliance.

Brown-Cadovich has a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Detroit-Mercy and is working toward a master’s degree in Health Services Administration from Central Michigan University.

Sam Eddy joined WSUPG in January 2019 as a consultant focused on improvements in the revenue cycle and clinical operations. Effective Oct. 1, he accepted the role of interim vice president of Clinical Operations. In this role, he will oversee daily clinical activities to ensure that the highest quality patient services are delivered through cost-effective operations. He will report to WSUPG’s chief operating officer.

Eddy has more than 25 years of experience as a health care leader focusing on clinical outpatient operations and revenue cycle redesign/management. Before starting his own consulting firm in May 2017, he held leadership positions with Navigant, QHR, FemPartners and with various hospitals and medical clinics.

He has a bachelor’s degree in Business Communications and Marketing from Colorado Christian University.

Alex Sporysz has rejoined WSUPG as director of Strategic Projects. She will oversee, implement and monitor various operational and strategic initiatives, including the relocation of administration to offices at 400 Mack Ave. in Detroit, development and coordination of a policy committee, standardization of departmental reports, physician compensation automation and improvement of the physician on-boarding process. She will report to the vice president of Human Resources and Information Technology.

Sporysz previously served as an administrative manager, chief administrative officer and a senior department administrator for various WSUPG departments.

She has a master’s degree in Business Administration from Walsh College and a bachelor’s degree in Management from Cornerstone University.
