Wayne State Giving Day: Give green, be gold

Wayne State Giving Day: Give green, be gold

Wayne State University has been an institution of opportunity since its founding in 1868. Giving Day connects the entire community — on campus, in Detroit and around the world — during this period of school spirit and generosity.

On April 13, all Warriors – and Tartars alike – are invited to help fund the areas of the university that mean the most to them.

Giving Day supports Wayne State’s deserving students, brilliant faculty, groundbreaking research and critical urban programs — and donations in support of the event go further, thanks to matching fund challenges made possible by key university supporters.

Last year, more than 1,500 donors raised $950,000 to support students, faculty, research, and diversity and inclusion, ultimately aiding more than 100 different causes across campus.

The Wayne State community is grateful for all who participated last year and hopes to make an even bigger impact this year. Gifts of all sizes, shares on social media and proudly supporting Giving Day by word-of-mouth are all great ways to make this the university’s biggest Giving Day yet.

Warriors ready to make a bold impact can get a head start today by visiting givingday.wayne.edu. Those who prefer to support the university by other means can spread the word by signing up to be a Giving Day Advocate or visiting the Student Center outside Midtown Market from noon to 1 p.m. on Giving Day to have a cup of coffee with W – Wayne State’s mascot – and participate in W’s Reels and Cheers Contest on social using #GiveGreenBeGold.
