Give back: Volunteer Hub launched to connect students with service opportunities on campus and beyond

The Dean of Students Office has created a new hub to connect students with volunteer opportunities on and off campus. The Volunteer Hub will provide a one-stop shop for students to explore both ongoing and one-time engagement and service opportunities.

The Volunteer Hub can also be used to log and report service hours, which appear on students’ involvement records. The resource is integrated within the Get Involved student activity platform.

“So many Wayne State students are service-oriented and are actively seeking opportunities to give back to campus and their community, and this resource will make it easier than ever to find and fulfill those opportunities, ” said Heather Marks, associate director of student life marketing in the Dean of Students Office. “It’s a good problem to have too many volunteer opportunities, especially given the diverse interests and skills of our students, and our hope is to provide a robust and dynamic listing at all times.”

Campus and community members are invited to add service opportunities to the Volunteer Hub. Add an opportunity using this form. Opportunities posted on the Volunteer Hub will also appear in the Get Involved student newsletter.
