Staff, faculty invited to learn more about the Welcome Center, become ambassadors for student success

Welcome Center

In keeping with Wayne State University’s commitment to supporting students and providing an accessible, positive experience as they navigate their academic journey, the Welcome Center is working to prepare for a new academic year.

Welcome Center logoFaculty and staff are invited to join the Welcome Center for an hourlong program where they will learn information about the services the center provides, important dates and deadlines, and how to eliminate barriers for students. The program will help participants better understand common student questions related to Welcome Center offices and provide points of contact for assistance. Information on how the Welcome Center works to remove obstacles related to admissions, financial aid, records and student accounts will also be shared.

The program was developed with the understanding that all members of the campus community want to provide the best possible student experience, and to help all members of the campus community be empowered ambassadors for student success.

“We appreciate the campus’s shared commitment to providing students with a great experience in the Welcome Center and look forward to working together to build our network of Welcome Center advocates,” said Latonia Garrett, director of the Student Service Center.

RSVP for the final session on Tuesday, July 20 at 10 a.m.
