Tuition benefits keep academic goals in reach

COVID-19 has changed life for many of our families, including the way we work, live and are educated.  As your institution, Wayne State University is here to help, reminding faculty and staff children to apply for the Born to Be a Warrior scholarship, offering up to four years of free tuition. A new application deadline for fall 2020 has been set to accommodate students who now wish to attend school closer to home, which may be comforting during these challenging times.

“At Wayne State, we value our faculty and staff and believe that many of them have children who would like to attend our university — especially now, as we grapple with our new normal, with so many things up in the air,” said Dawn Medley, associate vice president of enrollment management. “We’re fortunate to have an academic environment where people want to send their family members. Offering free tuition will make it easier for families during this economically challenging time.”

With 350 academic programs, a Wayne State degree is a great starting point for nearly any career goal. To be eligible as freshmen, students must have a 3.5 high school GPA and 24 ACT or 1160 SAT at the time of admission. Transfer students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 from their current college or university.

Full details and application forms are available on the Tuition Pledge Programs page. For consideration, freshmen must apply for admission to the university by Aug. 1 and transfer students by Aug. 15.
