The fourth annual Wayne State University Spirit of Community Awards ceremony, which honors members of the university for their community engagement efforts, will be held April 2 in the Student Center Ballroom.
The celebration is sponsored by the Division of Government and Community Affairs (DGCA) in partnership with the Office of the President, the Office of the Provost, the Alumni Association, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the Dean of Students Office.
DGCA will present Spirit of Community Awards to individual staff and faculty members and will also recognize one community service project. Other awards include the Spirit of Community Student Awards, presented by the Dean of Students Office; the Champions of Diversity and Inclusion Award, given out by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion; and the Inspire from Within Awards, presented by the Alumni Association.
Over the next month, Today@Wayne will post weekly profiles highlighting this year’s winners and runners-up in each award category.
