From longer days and shorter terms to Wayne State’s Spring/Summer Tuition Break, there are plenty of reasons to spend your summer on campus. Registration for spring/summer classes opens Feb. 11.
- Save time and money
Taking classes year-round is a great way to graduate sooner, make up a class and save money. Through WSU’s Spring/Summer Tuition Break, eligible students can receive a 30 percent tuition discount on spring/summer classes.
- Broaden your horizons
Spring/summer is the perfect time to focus on gaining experiences that will help you grow. Consider taking an elective outside your major or completing a study abroad opportunity or internship. You never know what you might learn!
- Keep your brain active
Taking a class during spring/summer will help you stay sharp, ensuring there will be no need to dust off the cobwebs and get back into the routine of studying once the fall semester starts.
- Shorter, more flexible terms
Spring/summer classes range in duration from 7 to 12 weeks, rather than the traditional 16 weeklong terms offered in fall and winter. Shorter terms mean more flexibility for your schedule — you’ll still have plenty of time for other commitments.
- Summer in the D
There’s no question that summer in Detroit means beautiful weather. Enjoy the sunshine on campus and don’t miss out on the opportunity to study outside. After class, there’s no shortage of fun to be had. Take the QLine to the riverfront, cheer for the Tigers at Comerica Park or cycle the Dequindre Cut. There’s something for everyone in the city. Summer festivals abound, from Mo Pop to Michigan’s biggest fireworks display.
