On Dec. 12, Dorothy Mahlin will cross the stage in the Matthaei Physical Education Center and receive her bachelor's in communication studies from Wayne State University. Her family will applaud from the stands as she smiles for the photographer. But this vivacious, 'A' student is no typical college coed.
