What do you get when you add nearly 2,000 students from nearly 60 metro Detroit high schools to the Wayne State University campus? You get an incredible opportunity to meet and interact with a diverse group of future Warriors.

The WSU community will have an opportunity to showcase its programs and people during the 12th annual AP (Advanced Placement) Day, scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, April 28.

Volunteers from almost every WSU school, college and department have signed on to welcome students as they attend lectures, enjoy lunch and tour campus.

AP Day is designed to reward students who have been enrolled in AP courses, giving them a glimpse into college life with sample lectures covering topics from American government to world history.

The event is hosted by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, and the Office of Marketing and Communications.

“Attendance at AP Day has grown significantly over the years, and we’re excited this year to have a record-breaking number of registrants,” said Julie Hasse, manager of marketing operations. “The students and teachers who visit our campus for AP Day get a glimpse of what Wayne State has to offer. Our goal is for them to leave impressed and wanting to return.”
