President M. Roy Wilson and stakeholders from across the university are seeking your ideas to best enhance the university’s Midtown presence. Students, staff, faculty, alumni and neighbors are encouraged to share ideas online at neighborland.com/waynestate. Ideas may also be submitted via Twitter using the hashtag #wsuplace.

According to organizers of Project for Public Spaces, the central hub of the global placemaking movement, placemaking is an approach to “help citizens transform their public spaces into vital places that highlight local assets, spur rejuvenation and serve common needs.”

Over the fall semester, Wayne State hopes to engage more than 3,500 people in this placemaking campaign to begin a dialogue about how we can create a vibrant, prosperous and welcoming community.

Neighborland allows users to support other ideas and share them on their social networks, and provides a platform for discussion about existing resources and activities.

Visit go.wayne.edu/placemaking for more information about this project.
