Every October, the National Cyber Security Alliance hosts National Cyber Security Awareness Month to help people stay safe online. This year, Wayne State C&IT is focusing on the dangers of phishing. Phishing attacks use email or malicious websites to obtain your personal and financial information to steal your money, your private data, your important information, and more.

This October, C&IT is asking you to test your cyber security knowledge by taking a quiz designed specifically for the Wayne State community. The goal of this brief quiz is to help you recognize the warning signs in a phishing message. Heightened awareness helps protect you and all members of the Wayne State community.

Check your Wayne Connect inbox in early October for your personal invitation to the phishing survey. Every completed quiz will be automatically entered in a drawing to win one of two prizes. Students are eligible for a $100 gift card to Barnes & Noble. Employees are eligible for a Wayne State prize pack. Winners will be notified in early November.

C & IT will post tips and tricks to keep safe weekly on computing.wayne.edu. Visit throughout the month of October or follow the department on Twitter @WayneStateCIT.

Security is a C&IT priority all year - find comprehensive security info anytime at security.wayne.edu.
