Have you ever wished there was an app to track Wayne State’s food trucks? Or maybe one to share open parking spaces? Now is your chance to make those wishes come true.

WSU’s Office of Economic Development and Blackstone LaunchPad are giving away a total of $5,000 in Wayne State’s first campus-wide mobile app competition.

The competition, which is open to Wayne State faculty, staff, alumni and students, asks budding programmers and developers to create an app that would help improve the Wayne State experience.

“It’s great that Wayne State recognizes the talent and passion found in our downtown development community,” says Nathan Hughes, competition judge and Detroit Labs co-founder.  “Detroit Labs couldn't be happier to play a part in supporting the individuals that will enter into this glorious app building battle with their peers; we're looking forward to seeing the apps."

Competition registration is open until Friday, April 4. All entries must be submitted by Friday, May 30.  For more information or to register, visit http://mobileapp.wayne.edu/
