Wayne State University experts available to comment on the Syria crisis and the road to U.S. involvement

Last weekend, President Obama postponed a military strike against the Syrian government in retaliation for an alleged chemical weapons attack so he could first seek authorization from Congress. The road to further U.S. involvement in the crisis may take several twists and turns politically, procedurally and diplomatically, raising questions about the process.

The following Wayne State University faculty members are available to offer expert opinion, tips and analysis in relation to the Syria crisis:

Fred Pearson is a professor of political science and director of the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies at Wayne State University. Pearson also directs the Detroit Council for World Affairs and is on the board of the Michigan Coalition for Human Rights. http://www.clas.wayne.edu/faculty/fpearson

Cynthia Aaron, M.D. is a professor of emergency medicine and medical director of the Michigan Regional Poison Control Center. http://emergencymed.med.wayne.edu/profile.php?id=44621
