Department of Theatre and Dance hosts actress Elaine Stritch at the Hilberry

Tony, Emmy and Drama Desk award-winning actress Elaine Stritch will appear at the Hilberry Theatre at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 27.  

During A Conversation with Apple Award Recipient Elaine Stritch, the actress will receive the 2013 Apple Award and participate in an Inside the Actors Studio-style interview hosted by the Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance. 

Stritch’s most recent stage work includes her critically acclaimed portrayal of Madame Armfeldt in the Sondheim-Wheeler musical A Little Night Music, Spalding Gray: Stories Left to Tell, and the Tony Award-winning Elaine Stritch at Liberty. In addition to her vast list of stage credits, Stritch is also prolific in movies and television, most recently portraying the feisty mother of Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin) on the popular NBC sitcom 30 Rock

The Maggie Allesee Department of Theatre and Dance and the Fisher Theatre present the Apple Award, named for Sarah Applebaum Nederlander, annually on behalf of the Nederlander family.
