Wayne State experts available to address U.S.-Iran relations in wake of Saudi ambassador assassination plot, attacks on Saudi and Israeli embassies


Wayne State University experts are available to discuss the implications of the recently thwarted assassination plot against the Saudi ambassador to the United States and planned attacks on Saudi and Israeli embassies. Federal authorities believe the alleged plot masterminds were working for factions of the Iranian government.

The following WSU professors can comment on what the latest developments mean to U.S.-Iran relations and how they will impact the United States' continued war on terror:

Saeed Khan, lecturer, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences - Khan's expertise is in the history and development of Muslim diaspora communities in the United States and Europe, as well as Islamic and Muslim history and political Islam.

Richard Chasdi, adjunct professor, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences - Chasdi is an expert in international conflict and terrorism issues. He is the author of three books on terrorism and counterterrorism.
