DETROIT-Wayne State University and TechTown, WSU's business incubator, will host the sixth annual E2 Detroit conference on Wednesday, Oct. 13. This event brings entrepreneurs together with business leaders, authors, investors and others for a program that both educates and inspires.
Wendy Kennedy, chief executive of her own startup, wendykennedy.com, business school professor and author of So what? who cares? why you?, is the midday keynote speaker at E2 Detroit. Kennedy has two decades of executive experience working in organically grown, angel-funded and VC-backed startups, where she defined customer value proposition and go-to-market strategy for early market technologies.
Today, Kennedy is dedicated to helping science and technology inventors, entrepreneurs and the organizations that nurture them, translate good ideas into great commercial opportunities.
"Launching a new business is difficult, even under the best market conditions," said Eric Stief, technology commercialization principal at WSU. "In lean times, it is critical to focus efforts on a few key factors that can lead to success. Wendy will share some hard-earned lessons and provide five practical, yet powerful techniques to drive businesses forward in today's challenging environment."
E2 Detroit attendees will learn creative ways to stretch their resources, how to launch a business with little or no capital, and other tips and practical advice that every entrepreneur should know for today's economy.
