Partnership launched between Business Leaders for Michigan, URC

Business Leaders for Michigan and the University Research Corridor (URC) announced the formation a new initiative called Accelerate Michigan to better align university research with the business concerns of large companies. The goal is to make the state a top ten state for economic growth, organizers said. "Business and universities are both part of the solution to our economic challenges," said Allan Gilmour, Wayne State University interim president. "But it's the combined power that can really make a difference. That's what Accelerate Michigan is all about." The URC is comprised of the state\'s largest research universities: Wayne State University, University of Michigan and Michigan State University.
