Meet the Composer: Anne LeBaron

Anne LeBaron will be on campus Friday for a presentation, "Concert Theater: music + . . ." at 11:45 am in the Schaver Music Recital Hall. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Anne LeBaron, composer, harpist, and Professor of Music Composition at the California Institute of the Arts in Los Angeles, will present a lecture/demonstration, "Concert Theater: music +..." from 11:45 AM ­ 12:40 PM at Wayne State University. She will demonstrate how the infusion of theatrical elements---movement, lighting, visual imagery, text-into a musical presentation can enhance and clarify a performance, and even transcend performance expectations. Her presentation will include her own works, as well as examples by composers such as Heiner Goebbels, Mauricio Kagel, Luciano Berio, Mary Ellen Childs), and performers (eighth blackbird, The Kronos Quartet).
