Wayne State University’s Board of Governors agreed today to remove the tuition contingency fee adopted during the 2007 fall semester, effective with the winter semester 2008. The decision to discontinue the contingency fee for the winter semester was made following the state’s repayment of the deferred payment for 2007.
The contingency fee was put in place initially to guard against additional shortfalls if the university did not receive any or all of the $20 million in deferred state monies.
Wayne State University is a premier institution of higher education offering more than 350 academic programs through 11 schools and colleges to more than 33,000 students.
