WDET concludes succesgul on-air fundraiser

Spring Membership Campaign Has Raised More Than $600,000

DETROIT - April 11, 2005 - The on-air portion of WDET\'s spring fundraiser ended on Friday, April 8. Prior to the on-air fundraiser, WDET experienced the most successful pre-pledge campaign in its history, with the station raising almost $200,000, a 95 percent increase over the pre-pledge campaign of the fall fundraiser. So far, more than 6,400 listeners have made a pledge of financial support during the spring campaign. More than 2,000 of those donating to WDET have done so for the first time, a 30 percent increase over the fall membership drive. WDET also saw an increase in donations from individuals giving the station $1,200 or more in financial support.

"Support from our listeners this spring has been tremendous," said Judy Adams, WDET program director and music host. "We\'ve seen increases in key areas, such as new and major donors. This speaks to the station\'s programming and service it provides to the listening audience. I want to personally thank everyone who showed their support during our spring membership drive."

WDET\'s membership campaign continues and those making donations between now and April 30th will still be eligible for one of the popular spring premiums, including the WDET Vintage Logo T-Shirt featuring the WDET logo from 1952 or WDET\'s Farewell To Neemi Jarvi. Listeners can make their tax-deductible gift to WDET anytime by calling 1-800-959-WDET, or they can see all the premiums and donate online at 800-959-WDET, or they can see all the premiums and donate online at wdetfm.org.
