Edwin Black, award-winning investigative author, to discuss his latest book "Banking on Baghdad" at Wayne State University

 Award-winning New York Times and international best-selling author Edwin Black will discuss his latest book titled "Banking on Baghdad," at Wayne State University's Welcome Center auditorium, Monday, Jan. 31, at 4:30 p.m. Black, the author of several award-winning books including "IBM and the Holocaust," The Transfer Agreement" and "War Against the Weak," chronicles the tragic and turbulent 7,000-year history of Iraq in "Banking on Baghdad." Leading a team of 30 researchers in five countries, Black accessed more than 100 repositories and secured some 50,000 documents while researching the book that has been nominated for a Pulitzer Prize.

As an investigative journalist, Black has often worked undercover contributing stories to the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun Times, Washington Post, Sports Illustrated and Playboy, to name a few. He also penned a syndicated weekly column in 50 cities titled "The Cutting Edge."

Sponsored by Wayne State University's Center for Peace and Conflict Studies, Center for the Study of Citizenship, Cohn-Haddow Center for Judaic Studies and the departments of history and political science, Black's presentation is free and open to the general public.
