U.S. pageant runner-up, 54, is champion for disability rights

A profile by Desiree Cooper on 54-year-old Marva Ways, who is the reigning Ms. Wheelchair Michigan, notes that she is a quadriplegic and has been a "nonstop disability rights advocate for the past 28 years." Ways has continued working, taking positions with organizations like the Developmental Disabilities Institute at Wayne State and the Great Lakes Center for Independent Living.
