Wayne State University Theatre Alum Robert Lambert to visit campus

On April 15th and 16th, casting director Robert Lambert will visit his alma mater. Lambert, who received his BFA in theatre from Wayne State University in 1983 has had a successful career as a professional actor and casting director. Since leaving Wayne State, Lambert worked in Chicago as an actor in roles such as George M. Cohan in Give My Regards to Broadway, Constantine in A Day in Hollywood, and Bobby in A Chorus Line.

Lambert has also played the role of Huck Finn in the national tour of Big River, and Jean Michel in La Cage Aux Folles. He has worked on Broadway in Gypsy with Tyne Daly, for which he was nominated for the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Debut by an Actor, and for which he won the 1990 Theatre World Award and the 1990 Astaire Award for Outstanding Male Dancer. Other roles include Off-Broadway productions of Forever Plaid and An Unfinished Song. He has also performed in industrial shows for McDonald's, Toyota, Sears, and Hardees with performers such as Billy Crystal, Liberace, Tony Randall and Audrey Landers. His television credits include appearances on All My Children, Another World and Ryan's Hope.

Lambert was awarded the Arts Achievement Award from Wayne State University's College of Fine, Performing, and Communication Arts in 1997. He will return once again this month to host a talkback with theatre students and share his experiences as a casting director for All My Children.
