Internationally acclaimed Olivier Latry is currently serving as the titular organist for the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris. He has performed in more than forty countries, appearing frequently in the United States. He travels to the U.S. annually, touring major cities coast to coast, as well as throughout Canada.

At just twenty-three, Latry served as titular organist of Meaux Cathedral and won a competition to become one of three titular organists for the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris. He has taught organ at the Academy of Music at St. Maur-des-Fosses and the Paris Conservatory. In addition to his teaching and demanding concert schedule, Latry has recorded several CDs, including music of Bach, the complete organ works of Durufl (root)(c), Vierne's Symphonies 2 & 3, Widor's Symphonies 5 and 6, Boellmann's Suite Gothique, and a CD of works by Litaize. He is currently recording on BNL and SDV labels in France.

An ambassador of seventeenth to twentieth century French organ music, Olivier Latry gives equal devotion to all repertory. Also devoted to the art of improvisation, he is considered among the most noted "improvisateurs" in the French tradition from Charles Tournemire to Pierre Cochereau.

Latry will also be performing a concert at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral on Friday, October 31, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased by calling (313) 865-6300.
