Wayne State will host a workshop today given by the Argentine vocal group OPUS CUATRO. The four singers are Alberto Hassan (tenor I), Marcelo Balsells (tenor II), Hernando Irahola (baritone) and Federico Galiana (bass).
This workshop is free and open to the public. It will be held at 226 Manoogian, at 4:15. The event is sponsored by the College of Liberal Arts, the departments of Music and Romance Languages and La Vida Hispana programming series.
The four-member group has become one of the most important vocal groups in Argentina and Latin America. They have received world recognition in the Americas, Europe and Asia.
Since its creation in l968, OPUS CUATRO has concentrated its repertoire on the performance of popular music and music rooted in the folk traditions of Argentina and Latin America. The quartet specializes in spirituals, jazz and musicals.
