Interns needed for post-bachelor's human services program at WSU

Applications are being accepted for post-bachelor's human services internships with Wayne State University's Parents and Children Together (PACT) program for yearlong positions starting June 29 and ending July 1999.

PACT's purpose is to promote safe and nurturing relationships for children whose families are referred from Wayne County for family preservation and/or reunification services.

Because the internship requires a full-time commitment, counselor interns receive an annual stipend of $12,000; full graduate (resident) tuition for three semesters; and work- related mileage.

Requirements for the program include:

* Bachelor's degree in human services such as sociology, social work, psychology, human development, criminal justice, early childhood education or a related discipline;

* Minimum grade-point average of 3.0;

* Experience working with children and families;

* Commitment to participate for the full internship period; and

* Driver's license and car with valid insurance policy.

To apply, send resume, three letters of reference (academic and professional), official transcripts or degree verification to: PACT Executive Director Kathleen Baltman, PACT/Wayne State University, 87 E. Ferry, 45 Knapp Building, Detroit, 48202. Questions can be directed to Dorene Brown or Nichole Paradis, in-home services supervisors, at (313) 577-3519.
