About 500 southeast Michigan residents attended a workshop today at Wayne State to learn what it takes to be an entrepreneur. The FastTrac to the Future program was free to budding entrepreneurs and anyone considering becoming one. The event featured speakers and more than a dozen workshops focusing on different aspects of running a business.
Film Festival Kicks Off Thursday
The second annual Detroit Windsor International Film Festival kicks off Thursday on the campus of Wayne State University. The Wayne State University School of Medicine Detroit has opened a new education hub that features state-of-the-science technology. The $35 million, three-story, 53,000-square-foot Richard J. Mazurek, M.D., Medical Education Commons connects to the School of Medicine\'s Scott Hall, nearly doubling the class space at the medical school.

Novi woman, 22, takes home Miss Michigan title
Wayne State University student Nicole Blaszczyk, of Novi, took home the title of Miss Michigan. Already the reigning Miss Wayne County, she won the title of Miss Michigan during a ceremony on Thursday. Her prizes include a $10,000 scholarship and a car.
