WSU's Howard Shapiro says the university's math standards help students think critically

Howard Shapiro, associate vice president for student services and undergraduate affairs, commented in reports highlighting Wayne State's math proficiency requirements. Wayne State prof gets NIH grant to combat osteoporosis

Wayne State University School of Medicine researcher Nabanita Datta received a $228,000 national grant to investigate the mechanism of a hormone and related peptide in the battle against osteoporosis. Datta, assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine's Division of Endocrinology, received the grant from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases to investigate the mechanism of MAP kinase phosphatase-1 and the role of parathyroid hormone in the treatment of bone disease.
