Population Studies and Disparities Research Program accepting poster abstracts for annual retreat

The Population Studies and Disparities Research Program at Karmanos Cancer Institute and the Wayne State University School of Medicine is now accepting poster abstracts for its annual retreat.

The PSDR Program annual retreat offers an excellent opportunity for networking with leaders in cancer, health disparities, and population-based cancer prevention and control research. Students, residents, fellows and other trainees are encouraged to submit their work to the judged poster session.

Abstract guidelines include the following:

•    Abstracts should report original work that is focused on cancer prevention and/or control
•    Abstracts are limited to 300 words
•    Include background, methods, results and conclusions sections
•    Prizes will be awarded to the top three posters

Abstracts must be submitted to Lauren Hamel, Ph.D., at Lauren.Hamel@med.wayne.edu no later than 5 p.m. Sept. 27.

Decisions for acceptance will be sent by Oct. 7.

The cost of printing posters will be covered by the PSDR Program.
