What:

Match Day is the culmination of four years of hard work and determination for medical students nationwide, including our 300 future physicians who train in the heart of Detroit at the Wayne State University School of Medicine. This is the day M.D. students find out if and where they ‘matched’ with their chosen medical specialty and medical residency program.

Who:

Wayne State University School of Medicine students from the Class of 2023 will gather to find out where they will begin their career as physicians. Students will open a letter that contains their post-graduation residency assignment for the next three to seven years, depending on their medical specialty.

Why:

Get ready to cheer, Match Day is here! This is a highly visual/auditory event to cover, with students and faculty available for interviews before and after the big reveal.
