Learn more about  COVID-19 vaccines — from the science and development behind them to how they will be administered on campus and beyond — from President M. Roy Wilson, Interim Provost Laurie Lauzon Clabo and a panel of health care experts.

In addition to President Wilson and Interim Provost Clabo, panelists include:

  • Paul Kilgore, M.D., M.P.H., director of research, Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and co-principal investigators on the Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccine studies in Detroit
  • Marcus Zervos, M.D., assistant dean of global affairs, School of Medicine, and co-principal investigators on the Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccine studies in Detroit
  • Ramona Benkert, Ph.D., ANP-BC, FAANP, interim dean, College of Nursing, and a nurse practitioner with three decades of experience in treating adults.
  • Jason McLellan, Ph.D., a structural virologist at University of Texas at Austin and a Wayne State alum whose research lab mapped the protein spike that allows the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus to infect human cells, leading to the creation of vaccines.
