- Marcus Zervos, M.D., assistant dean of global affairs, School of Medicine, and co-principal investigators on the Moderna and Johnson and Johnson vaccine studies in Detroit
- Ramona Benkert, Ph.D., ANP-BC, FAANP, interim dean, College of Nursing, and a nurse practitioner with three decades of experience in treating adults.
- Jason McLellan, Ph.D., a structural virologist at University of Texas at Austin and a Wayne State alum whose research lab mapped the protein spike that allows the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus to infect human cells, leading to the creation of vaccines.
