Plan ahead for winter 2021 registration, financial aid

To continue Wayne State University’s efforts of keeping the campus community safe during the coronavirus pandemic, classes for the winter 2021 semester will be offered primarily online or via remote instruction. Registration is now open and the winter 2021 class schedule is available at registration.wayne.edu. Instructions on how to look up classes, register, etc. are available here: https://wayne.edu/registrar/registration

Support is available for students with questions or concerns about registration. Sign up to have a registration expert reach out to you directly via phone or email.

Courses fill quickly, so students are encouraged to meet with their advisor virtually to determine eligibility and plan their academic schedule. Additionally, students can beat the rush at the start of the semester and get all financial aid paperwork and information completed early. Visit wayne.edu/studentservice/bulletin to see how the Student Service Center can help.

WSU will continue to extend the temporary relaxation of renewal requirements for students with merit scholarship funding throughout the remainder of the 2020-21 academic year. This extension applies to the following: President’s Award, Warrior Award, Gold Award, Detroit Leadership Award, Green Award, Scholar Award, Anthony Wayne Scholarship, Warrior Transfer Award, Gold Transfer Award, Green Transfer Award, Pathway Award, Born to Be a Warrior Tuition Pledge, Heart of Detroit Tuition Pledge and Wayne Access Tuition Pledge.

To remain eligible for scholarships, students must meet satisfactory academic progress (SAP) standards and complete 24 credit hours during the academic year as a full-time student. SAP standards include earning a cumulative 2.0 GPA and completing 67% of all attempted coursework in their degree program.

Students should maintain full-time enrollment (12 hours) during each fall and winter semester to not jeopardize their federal aid or scholarships. The spring/summer tuition discount will be in effect for 2021, so if a student needs to take hours to meet the 24-hour relaxed requirement (typically 30), they may do so. Any student who is concerned about eligibility should reach out to the Student Service Center at studentservice@wayne.edu. Students should also reach out if they are facing emergency hardships for assistance and connection to campus resources.

Online resources are available through the Learn Anywhere platform at success.wayne.edu/learnanywhere, which includes information about support available from the Academic Success Center, the University Library System, Computing & Information Technology, the Dean of Students Office, and more.
