The start of the fall semester is an especially exciting time at Wayne State. Although this fall looks a bit different, two important student traditions have been adapted virtually.
New Student Convocation: Monday, Aug. 31, from 1:30-2 p.m.
Convocation is the formal welcome to the university by President M. Roy Wilson and the Board of Governors. Students, parents and family members are all welcome to join the live celebration of the beginning of the class of 2024's academic career. This event is a continuation of new students’ required Orientation Part 2, which is great way to meet new people and learn how to succeed at WSU.

FestiFall: Tuesday, Sept. 1, from 4 to 6 p.m.
Join the Dean of Students Office for the university’s annual student organization fair, where hundreds of student organizations, campus departments and learning communities are showcased. This event is open to all students, and is a great way to connect with other students, meet the dean of their college or school, and find groups on campus that align with personal interests, academic aspirations or professional goals.
FestiFall will be hosted on virtually on Get Involved.
Existing student organizations, university departments and units can sign up here to host a virtual table at FestiFall.
