Carla Walker-Miller, founder, president and CEO of Walker-Miller Energy Services, recently made a $2,500 donation to the Wayne State University HIGH Program. Walker-Miller is a savvy entrepreneur and a visionary leader determined to change lives through energy. Her Detroit-based firm develops and implements energy efficient solutions for utility companies and owners of residential and commercial buildings. She currently sits on the Board of Advisors for the HIGH Program. As a member, she provides continued support for the program and now is giving back in yet another way with her donation.
The HIGH (Helping Individuals Go Higher) Program helps financially stressed students at Wayne State University reach their goal to graduate. The program provides resources, such as housing support, textbooks and other school supplies, clothing, transportation, and child-care assistance, for students in need. Its mission is to ensure that no student abandons their dream of earning a degree solely because of housing or financial challenges.
