Faculty invited to tour new STEM Innovation Learning Center

Wayne State University will open the new STEM Innovation Learning Center in fall 2020, but faculty are now invited to get a behind-the-scenes preview of WSU’s latest hub for interdisciplinary teaching, learning and innovation.

Tonya Matthews, associate provost for inclusive workforce development and director of STEM learning innovation, will host hard hat Insiders Tours of the STEM Learning Innovation Center. Tours are available on Friday, Nov. 22 at 2:30 p.m and on Monday, Nov. 25 at 2:30 p.m. Space is limited. RSVP here.

Please note that closed-toe shoes are required (no sandals or heels), and pants are preferred over skirts for safety reasons. Facilities will provide hard hats, vests and safety glasses.

The STEM Innovation Learning Center will include flexible classrooms, seminar spaces, offices and instructional labs that are technology-rich and support hands-on and project-based learning. While the building has been designed with Wayne State students and faculty in mind, the space will also offer opportunities for K-12 students in the Detroit area.
