The Wayne State Division of Government and Community Affairs will host the third annual Spirit of Community Awards ceremony, which recognizes outstanding community service by university students, faculty and staff, on April 11 in the Student Center Ballroom.
This year, the Division of Government and Community Affairs has partnered with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion to add four new honors, dubbed the Champions of Diversity and Inclusion Awards, to the program. The Champions of Diversity and Inclusion Awards recognize faculty, staff and students with an established and successful record in creating and sustaining a diverse, inclusive and welcoming campus.
The ceremony will also feature the presentation of the Inspire from Within Philanthropy Award, presented by the Division of Government and Community Affairs to faculty and staff who strengthen the Wayne State community through philanthropic investment.
All winners will be announced at the Spirit of Community Awards ceremony.
The Spirit of Community Awards program started in 2017 and is presented by the Division of Government and Community Affairs in collaboration with the Office of the President, Office of the Provost, Dean of Students Office, the Office of Development, and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
