ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Pratt Dawsey covers Michigan’s cities and urban affairs for Bridge Magazine. She joined the Bridge team from the Detroit Free Press, where she spent more than a decade providing authoritative coverage of Detroit Public Schools. She has broken many of the biggest stories regarding education in the state’s largest city over the past decade. In recognition of her success in diversifying news coverage in Michigan, she earned the Working in the Spirit of Diversity award from Wayne State University in 2017.Pratt Dawsey’s work has also appeared in USA Today, Essence and the Investigative Reporters and Editors Journal.
ABOUT THE LECTURE SERIES:
The Arthur L. Johnson Urban Perspectives Lecture Series began in 1992 and was named in honor of the civil rights leader and former Wayne State University administrator upon his retirement. The series features distinguished corporate and civic leaders who speak on a wide range of important issues, from politics and business to law and the arts.
