Media Advisory: Inaugural Mike Ilitch School of Business '25 Under 25' to be held March 30

WHAT: Inaugural Mike Ilitch School of Business "25 Under 25" recognition program

Anyone who has spent time around the students in Wayne State University’s Mike Ilitch School of Business knows they are some of the brightest and hardest working around. And it's time for those students to receive some public recognition for all they do — in and out of the classroom.

To accomplish this, Dean Bob Forsythe created the Mike Ilitch School of Business 25 Under 25 program. All new for the 2016-17 academic year, 25 Under 25 recognizes students who have demonstrated success in at least two of the following four categories: academics, leadership, professional development and campus/community service.

WHEN: 5:30-7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 30, 2017

WHERE: Detroit Historical Museum, 5401 Woodward Ave, Detroit, MI 48202

Free parking is available in the lot adjacent to the museum. In addition, street parking also is available.

MORE INFO: Honoree headshots and bios are available. The 25 student honorees will be presented with a special award. A select group of potential hiring managers from local employers will also attend this special, invitation-only event. Honorees, judges and Ilitch School leadership will be available for interviews.

The Wayne State University Mike Ilitch School of Business prepares students for challenging and rewarding careers, advances the boundaries of scholarly and practitioner knowledge, and enhances the economic vitality of the city of Detroit, the state of Michigan and beyond through its programs, research and community engagement. Established in 1946, the business school was renamed in 2015 in recognition of a $40 million gift from Mike and Marian Ilitch. Thanks to this lead investment, a new state-of-the-art building is slated to open in the heart of the District Detroit in 2018, and entrepreneurial programming and collaboration with city businesses are expanding.
