Media Advisory: Walkable Warren reimagines a walkable, bike-friendly thoroughfare in Midtown

WHAT:

From Sept. 22 to 24, Warren Avenue between Woodward and Second avenues will feature streetscape improvements such as painted bike lanes, pedestrian bump-outs and shortened crosswalks. Walkable Warren will also feature a food truck rally, a pop-up market, sidewalk seating and entertainment, and other activities. The prototypes are intended to promote walking, biking and active street life, and will inform Wayne State’s next campus master plan, as well as the City of Detroit’s plans for safety improvements in the corridor. Walkable Warren is an official part of the 2016 Detroit Design Festival.

Walkable Warren streetscape improvements will be in place Thursday, Sept. 22 through Saturday, Sept. 24. Additional events include:
