More about Design Day:
The College of Engineering ranks in the top 30 percent of all engineering programs in the nation in research expenditures, according to the National Science Foundation, with a strong emphasis on student — particularly undergraduate — research. Supervised by top-tier faculty members, the college’s student capstone and research teams produce high-quality outcomes. Some of these projects were directed and sponsored by partner companies, resulting in advancements to technologies, processes and methods.

Through the support of the James and Patricia Anderson Engineering Ventures Institute, the college is able to dedicate greater resources to assist students in research and development. The Anderson Institute’s goal is to spur engineering entrepreneurship in Detroit with the commercialization of technologies resulting from student research projects.

Through Student Design and Innovation Day, the College of Engineering  opens its doors to give industry and the community an opportunity to view the diverse range and capabilities of student research teams here in Midtown Detroit.
