Detroit Orientation Institute hosts Detroit Dialogue: Home Rule City Act on July 30

How has the Home Rule City Act influenced municipal politics in Michigan? What is the impact of this and other public policies on local governance, revenue sharing and Detroit's bankruptcy? How might this policy help or impede efforts to forge regional approaches to the future land use for metropolitan Detroit?

These and other questions will be explored in a small, interactive lunch-time conversation, Detroit Dialogue: Home Rule City Act, presented by Wayne State University's Detroit Orientation Institute.

The event's 15 participants are invited to actively engage in the discussion, where they will be joined by special guests Bettie Buss (formerly with the Citizens Research Council) and Eric Lupher (Citizens Research Council). The conversation will be facilitated by Graig Donnelly, director of Wayne State's Detroit Revitalization Fellows program.
