Wellness Warriors Walking Club returns with new routes

Could your New Year’s resolution use a half-year tune up? If one of your goals was to increase physical activity, the Wellness Warriors Walking Club

Could your New Year’s resolution use a half-year tune up? If one of your goals was to increase physical activity, the Wellness Warriors Walking Club may be the perfect fit. 

The club will meet most Thursdays from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. starting July 9 and ending August 27. 

All participants will receive a tracking sheet and educational handouts, and be entered into a drawing for Wellness Warrior gear.

New routes have been added this year, including:

1. Half-Campus Loop - 1 Mile

Starts at the Mort Harris Recreation and Fitness Center. Walk on Gullen Mall north through the middle of campus to Palmer Street. Turn right at Palmer and walk to Cass Avenue. At Cass, turn right and walk all the way to Warren Avenue. Turn right on Warren and walk to Gullen Mall. Walk north on Gullen Mall back to the MHRFC. 

2. Lowell Blanchard Track – Self-paced

Located outside of the Matthaei Physical Education Center is the Lowell Blanchard Track, where you can experience a low-impact walk. The starting point begins when you step on the track. 

3. School of Medicine Loop - 1 Mile

Starts at Scott Hall. Walk west on E. Canfield Street. Turn right on John R. At E. Hancock Street, turn right and walk to Brush Street. Turn right on Brush to E. Canfield. Turn left on E. Canfield and go east to the starting point at Scott Hall.
