Media Advisory: School of Medicine hosts Wayne County's first interdisciplinary mental health conference

WHAT:
The Detroit Wayne Mental Health Authority and Wayne State University will hold "Raising the Bar," the authority's first interdisciplinary mental health conference, in the Wayne State University School of Medicine's Gordon Scott Hall. The conference is co-hosted by the Detroit Veterans Affairs Healthcare System and the Michigan Area Health Education Center.

Behavioral health professionals will share practical knowledge and experience in addressing complex mental health recovery challenges and showcase the importance of collaboration in the community mental health system transformation.

Topics will include better serving homeless populations and military veterans, mental health first aid, trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder, adolescent suicide prevention, behavioral addictions and much more.
