MEDIA ADVISORY: Hacking Health Windsor-Detroit starting today at TechTown Detroit

WHAT:

Hacking Health Windsor-Detroit, the world's first cross-border, health care hackathon. Professionals from the health care and IT industries will converge over the course of the weekend to form teams that conceptualize, design and build mobile apps and IT solutions for the health care sector. The best ideas are eligible for over $20,000 in prizes. More than 250 professionals and students are registered for the event. 

Demo Day, open to the public, is on Sunday, May 3 from 1:30-5 p.m., with demonstrations of the hackathon projects and announcements of the winners.

Hacking Health Windsor-Detroit is organized by TechTown in Detroit, and WEtech Alliance and Hackforge in Windsor. Wayne State University is the lead sponsor for the event. Partner hospitals include Henry Ford Health System, Windsor Regional Hospital, Hotel-Dieu Grace Hospital and Leamington District Memorial Hospital. Research partners include Wayne State University, University of Michigan Fast Forward Medical Innovation, Oakland University, University of Windsor, St. Clair College, Madonna University and University of Detroit Mercy.
